DU Professor elected as BoD of ISC

Professor Dr Zia Rahman of the Department of Criminology of Dhaka University (DU) has been elected the Board of Directors of the International Society of Criminology (ISC) for the next five years (2019-2024). He is the first Bangladeshi who received the honour from such a prestigious learned society.

Professor Emilio C Viano of USA, the past President of the Society was re-elected while Professor Dr Susan Edwards of UK has been elected as the General Secretary of the society. Professor Zia represents Bangladesh in the Board with other 18 members from other countries of the globe. The decision has been made in the concluding business session of the society’s International Conference held in Doha, Qatar from 27 to 30 October.

Professor Zia is currently the President of Bangladesh Society of Criminology. He is also the founder Chairman of the Department of Criminology of DU.
