DU Master’s course in Development Economics without tution fees

Exciting news for aspiring economists! Dhaka University, in collaboration with the BIDS Graduate School of Economics at the Bangladesh Development Research Institute (BIDS), has officially opened admissions for its innovative Master of Development Economics (MDE) programme for the 2023-24 academic year. The best part? This prestigious one-year programme comes with no tuition fees.

Affiliated with Dhaka University, the MDE degree will carry the esteemed university’s credentials. While there are no tuition costs, students will need to pay a nominal fee of Tk 15,000 to cover miscellaneous expenses upon admission.

Eligibility criteria:

Applicants must hold a four-year Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Administration, Finance, Development Studies, Sociology, or Engineering from a recognised university.

Graduates with Bachelor’s degrees in other economics-related disciplines are also eligible.

A minimum CGPA of 3.0 in the undergraduate programme is required.

Both women and professionals from public and private sectors are encouraged to apply.

1. Form download: Obtain the application form from the BIDS website.

2. Submission: Complete and email the form to BGSEAdmission@gmail.com by September 11, 2024.

3. Admission test: Shortlisted candidates will receive details for the written entrance test, scheduled for September 14, 2024.
