Dhaka University (DU) has extended the deadline for undergraduate admission applications for the 2024-25 academic year by two days due to technical issues. The new deadline is now set for 11:59 pm on November 27. A notification on DU’s admission website confirmed the extension, stating that SMS service disruptions have been resolved.
The application process, which began online on November 4, was originally scheduled to end on November 25. This year, 6,010 seats are available for admission across various units. Students who passed the Secondary or equivalent examinations from 2019 to 2022 and the Higher Secondary or equivalent examinations in 2024 are eligible to apply, provided they meet the unit-specific criteria.
The university clarified that second-time applicants will not be allowed. Due to the World Ijtema, the Science Unit admission test, initially scheduled for February 1, has been postponed to February 15. The revised admission test schedule is Arts, Law, and Social Science Unit on January 25, Science Unit on February 15, Business Education Unit on February 8, Fine Arts Unit (General Knowledge and Drawing) on January 4, and IBA Unit on January 3.
All tests, except for the IBA admission test, which will be held from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm, will take place from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm. Applicants may apply for up to five units. Detailed guidelines, including eligibility criteria, are available on the university’s admission website. The extension aims to provide additional time for students affected by the technical issues to complete their applications smoothly.
