The introductory meeting of the students of the 'Professional Masters in Criminology and Criminal Justice' programme of the Dhaka University Criminology Department was held on Friday at the Professor Mozaffar Ahmed Chowdhury Auditorium.
Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. ASM Maksud Kamal was present as the chief guest on the occasion.
Chairperson of DU Social Science Faculty and Criminology Department Shaharia Afrin gave a welcome speech on the occasion with Social Science Faculty Dean and Criminology Department Founder Chairman Professor Dr. Zia Rahman in the chair.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. ASM Maksud Kamal welcomed the students of Master's programme and said that the Department of Criminology is a modern and diverse department.
He expressed hope that the teachers and students of the department will play an effective role in crime prevention in the society by providing recommendations and suggestions to the concerned through basic research.
