The tenure of Dhaka University Chhatra League's Hall Committee in 18 halls of the university has expired as two years have already elapsed.

According to the committee announcement, on February 2022, it is scheduled to end in February, 2023 based on the constitution.

But the leaders and activists of the central Chhatra League have not taken any initiative in this regard.

As a result, the leaders and activists of the Chhatra League are abusing power. Many Chhatra League activists do not have any position though they are very close to complete their Master’s course.

At the same time, many aspiring leaders and workers are losing interest in politics.

A student named Shamim (pseudonym) said, “I have completed my Master’s now. I have been doing politics from the beginning of my course. However, I didn’t get position on the BCL committee by which I can identify myself. In the situation, I can neither move forward towards a job, nor can I involve myself full-time in politics".

When asked about this from Bangladesh Chhatra League President Saddam Hossain and General Secretary Sheikh Wali Asif Inan, they said that It's a matter of Dhaka University Chhatra League.

To mobilize the Hall Chhatra League unit, they will declare the committee as soon as possible”.

While asked, Tanvir Hasan Shaikat, general secretary of Dhaka University Chhatra League, said,“ We have kept it in mind.

I think we will dissolve the committee before August and new committee will be formed”.
