Dhaka University Teachers Association (DUTA) has given farewell to 29 retired teachers of the university on Saturday at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban.
Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman attended the program as chief guest and handed over crest among the retired teachers.
Presided over by DUTA President Professor Dr A S M Maksud Kamal the function was addressed by Pro-VC (Administration) Professor Dr Muhammad Samad, Treasurer Professor Dr Md Kamal Uddin, former DU VC Professor Dr A K Azad Chowdhury and Professor Dr S M A Faiz. DUTA General Secretary Professor Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam conducted the function. Deans of different faculty, provosts of different hall and chairmen of different department were present on this occassion.
Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman said, Dhaka University will always remember the contribution of the retired teachers to education and research with gratitude. He hoped that their involvement with the university would continue in future. He wishes them good health and longevity.
