Department of Social Welfare (DSW) in Jhenaidah distributed yearly grant among 54 non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in a meeting from the Bangladesh National Social Welfare Council recently. The grant was distributed in a joint event organized by Jhenaidah District Administration.
The grant was distributed in the conference room of the deputy commissioner (DC) by DC SM Rafiqul Islam as chief guest. where about 50 participants including organizational heads of the NGO present.
Assistant director of the office of the deputy director of welfare office Abdul Momin, urban social service officer Afazuddin Khan, Probation officer Masudur Rahman and registration officer Taslim Arif, district social welfare e committee leaders NM Shahjalal and Aminur Rahaman among others present.
DSW sources said they had also distributed cheques for Taka two thousand each among 34 under privileged society families and 34 other members of the families to stand by them in changing their socio-economic state.
DSW assistant director Abdul Momin said they are going to distribute another Taka one lakh among a number of beggars to rehabilitate them in the society.
