In a groundbreaking move toward modernizing the education system, the Directorate of Secondary & Higher Education (DSHE) has launched the 'Noipunno' app, offering detailed instructions for assessing sixth and seventh-grade students. Departing from conventional annual exams, students in classes VI and VII participated in the 'Annual Summative Assessment' under the innovative new curriculum.
Teachers now have the exciting task of inputting their assessment data into the 'Noipunno' app, which boasts an automated system for generating index-based evaluation results. The app securely stores all pertinent student information alongside their results, streamlining the evaluation process.
DSHE's Assistant Director, SM Ziaul Haider Henry, signed the notification outlining these guidelines, featuring a comprehensive four-page directive from National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) Secretary Nazma Akhtar. This information is readily accessible on the DSHE website as of Wednesday, December 13.
The 'Noipunno' app, tailored to align with the new curriculum, has been specifically crafted to simplify the creation of student evaluation transcripts and reports. The input process for learning levels, collective assessment competency guidelines, and behavioral criteria for sixth and seventh-grade students commenced on December 1. Teachers are provided with both written and video guides to facilitate seamless data entry.
The directive, directed at all school head teachers, underscores the importance of accurately entering Proficiency Indicator (PI) and Behavioral Indicator (BI) data using the provided guides and video links.
In line with the new National Curriculum 2023, the 'Noipunno' app harnesses information technology to efficiently store and automatically generate report cards for both learning and summative assessments. Educational institutions nationwide are mandated to employ the app, ensuring the proper execution of student evaluation activities.
While the data entry process began on December 1, some teachers are facing technical challenges. Reports indicate that the craft app server system is experiencing high traffic, resulting in occasional difficulties. DSHE has established a helpline, and while some teachers have encountered challenges reaching it, they are encouraged to report issues via SMS, promising a resolution.
Despite these initial challenges, DSHE's initiative represents a significant leap toward a more streamlined and technology-driven education assessment system, fostering innovation in the evaluation process for the benefit of students and educators alike.
