The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) has sent show cause letters to 36 teachers and staff members of various secondary schools across the country. These letters demand explanations for their absences from school. DSHE has shared a list of these teachers and staff members, instructing them to explain their absence. They must visit their District Education Officer within five working days.
Earlier this year, DSHE officials made surprise visits to many schools without prior notice. During
these visits, they found that 36 teachers and staff members were not at school.
According to DSHE's report, these surprise visits took place in March 2024. The Monitoring and Evaluation Wing of DSHE conducted these inspections and discovered that these teachers were absent without permission.
The findings were then sent to the secondary wing of the Directorate through a digital monitoring system.
As a result, these 36 teachers and staff members are now required to explain their absences. They have five working days to present themselves at their district education office and provide clear reasons for their unauthorized absence. This action is part of DSHE's effort to ensure accountability and regular attendance in schools.
