The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) has issued four new guidelines for teachers to prevent Corona infection in educational institutions. A letter has been sent to the heads of all government and private educational institutions with these instructions.
The letter, signed by DSHE's Monitoring and Evaluation Wing Assistant Director Mohsena Begum, was issued on Monday.
The letter instructed all the teachers to ask the students about their health condition first after entering the classroom. The teachers were also instructed to ask students about their family members’ health. Any students or anyone from their family having corona symptoms (fever, runny nose, cough, etc.) are discouraged to attend the classes.
In addition, if a student or his/her family members suffer from corona or corona symptoms, the school should make arrangements to send the student home immediately to ensure isolation. Moreover, the head of the institution should arrange corona test for the teachers and all the students in the classroom as soon as possible.
It further said a guideline and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) has been issued by the DSHE for re-opening of educational institutions. Information from educational institutions are collected and sent on a daily basis to higher authorities through monitoring checklists. It is important to take some more steps to prevent corona infections.
Schools and colleges reopened on September 12 after a long 18-month closure as the corona infection rate had dropped.
Besides, SSC and HSC examinations will be held from November 14 and December 2 respectively following the health guidelines.
