DScE highlights use of Econometrics

Entrepreneurial Economists club of Dhaka School of Economics organized an international webinar on the use of Econometrics and Real life application and How to publish article in SCOPUS/ ABDC indexed journal and predatory journal on Saturday.

The speakers at the webinar said that currently econometrics is applied regularly among academics, policy makers as well as entrepreneurs for the betterment of the economy. 

They said that an example of the application of econometrics is to study the income effect using cross sectional data due to COVID-19 in Bangladesh.

They argued that Dhaka School of Economics (DScE) has always provided entrepreneurial education in Bachelor of Economics (Entrepreneu­rial Economics), Post graduate Diploma in enterprise Development and Master of economics (Entrepre­neurship Economics) for which an intensive research study may be undertaken.  Econometrics works as a theoretical economic model into applied tools for economic policymaking of a country in Bangladesh, they added.

Speakers also said that if one publish the papers in a predatory journals then it will be unlikely to be cited, which will affect the impact of his/her research work. 

Dr Anusree Paul, Associate Professor of Economics in BML Munjal University in School of Management, India delivered the keynote presentation on the use of Econometrics and Real life application while Dr Sardana Khan of School of Business and Law, CQ University Australia, delivered the keynote presentation on how to publish article in SCOPUS/ ABDC indexed journal and predatory journal. Professor Haider A. Khan, Prof of economics at the Joseph Korbel School of International Studies, University of Denver, attended the webinar as chief guest.Sara Tasneem, Assistant Professor of DScE, Afia Akter, lecturer of DScE and Mohammad Amanullah Aman, Adjunct faculty also spoke during the event.
