When the law enforcers are busy to tackle the Corona emergency and doing their duties at day-night to maintain the health rules in lockdown condition, all the top listed drug peddlers are running their narcotics trade in uninterruptedly in Narayanganj.
After imposing the lockdown in the district, police, RAB and magistrates are moving in their jurisdiction to ensure smooth lockdown managemenyt.
Police men currently do not have time to go after drug peddlers or other criminals or take any steps against them. In the meantime, the drug peddlers and their associates are trading narcotics and destroying the social harmony.
During the lockdown, at least 6 peoples were murdered under four police stations in the district by drug peddlers.
Talking to the police officers it was learned that they are not capable to capture the criminals as the judicially procedure has stopped during the lockdown.
A police inspector wanting to remain anonymous told the Bangladesh Post that the jail authority had told them not to send any accused to jail custody except heinous crime like murder.
From the beginning of lockdown in Narayanganj, the members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-11 and RAB-1) conducting several raids at Rupganj, Shiddhirganj and Sonargoan upazila recovered huge amount of drugs and arrested a good number of drug peddlers.
The top listed narcotics dealers under all 7 police stations are at large and thus the narcotics trade is running unabated.
Besides, the criminal gang widely known as Kishor gang has been moving around the locality and got into clash with the people who tried to resist them.
In these way the social harmony is falling apart by such kind of criminal acts and causing trouble for peace-loving citizens.
