The rapid action battalion personnel in Jhenidah have arrested a drug vendor and seized 185 pieces of contra banned yaba pills from his possession. The drive was conducted on Saturday early morning.
RAB-6 company commander Senior assistant superintendent of police (ASP) Sohel Parvez said to make the country drug free, the elite force abide other law enforcing agencies have been conducting drives as a part of their regular activities as the drug became threat to the young generation and others. He along with Squad Commander ASP Safiqur Rahmna having information conducted a drive in the morning of Saturday. They raided a house at Sheikhpara Paschim Basantapur and arrested SM Shehab Rana, 28, son of Bashir Sheikh of village Sheikhpara in same upazila.
The elite force had seized 185 pieces of the contra banned yaba pills and cash against sale proceeds for Taka 1,800 from the possession of the arrested.
A case was filed with Shailkupa police station in this connection and the arrested was sent to Jhenidah court for proceedings, company commander Sohel Parvez said.
