Pabna Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-12 camp personnel conducting a raid in Kushtia arrested a drug dealer with 545 bottles of phensedyl on Tuesday midnight.
The arrested drug dealer was identified as Md. Ramzan Ali, 32, son of Md. Abdur Rahman of Maniknagar Purbapara village under Salimpur union of Ishwardi upazila in Pabna.
According to RAB-12 sources, Ramzan Ali has been involved in drug business for a long time. He had been trafficking phensidyl and other drugs in different parts of the country including his own area.
A group of RAB personnel led by RAB-12 Pabna's Acting Commander Aminul Kabir Tarafdar took position in the area on the basis of secret information that Ramzan Ali was staying in Sonaikundi Purbapara area under Daulatpur police station in Kushtia for selling phensedyl.
Anticipating the presence of RAB, Ramzan Ali tried to flee but was caught by RAB members. 545 bottles of phensedyl were recovered from a bag preserved by him at the time.
The RAB official further informed that Ramzan Ali is an identified drug supplier. A case has been filed against him under Narcotics Control Act with Daulatpur police station in Kushtia in this regard.
