A reception was accorded to writer-members of Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) at its Sagor Runi auditorium in the capital on Monday (November 25, 2019). A total of 41 DRU members, whose books were published this year, were accorded reception.
Director General of Bangla Academy Habibullah Sirajee spoke at the event as the chief guest with DRU president Elias Hossain in the chair. Amit K. Bishwas, publisher and editor of Apparel News, attended the event as the special guest. DRU general secretary Kabir Ahmed Khan delivered the welcome speech.
Later, chief guest along with others handed over crests and certificates to the journalists as writers.
Mustafiz Shafi of Daily Samakal, Poet Hasan Hafiz of Amar Desh, Kanai Chakrabarty of BSS, Ehsanul Haque Jasim of Bangladesh Post, Maidur Rahman Rubel of RTV, Zunaid Ali Saki of SA TV and Habibullah Fahad of Dhaka Times are among the journalists who were accorded reception by the DRU.
