Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions have experienced rain in the last couple of days. Light rain is likely to continue in these areas throughout the next day. Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions is also expected to experience drizzling.
Temperature, especially during the night, is likely to drop further in the next two days after the rains subside.
Wednesday marks the 14th day of the Bengali month of ‘Poush’. According to meteorological reports, there was light rain in Badalgachhi, Dinajpur and Syedpur of Naogaon till Wednesday.
Due to the cloudy weather, the impact of winter in the north has somewhat relaxed. For a long time, the minimum temperature at Tentulia in Panchagarh was below 10 degrees. On Tuesday, the country's minimum temperature in Tentulia was 8.4 degrees Celsius. However, on Wednesday, it increased to 11.4 degrees.
The country's lowest temperature on Wednesday was recorded at Srimangal in Sylhet, 11 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature in Dhaka is 16 degrees Celsius.
Meteorologist Abul Kalam told Bangladesh Post that light drizzle is expected in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Dhaka divisions including Kushtia and Jessore regions throughput the next day.
“Elsewhere in the country, the weather will be mostly dry with partly cloudy skies. Light to moderate fog can be experienced almost everywhere in the country from midnight to morning,” he said.
At this time, the night temperature may remain almost unchanged across the country and the day temperature may decrease by 1 to 3 degrees Celsius, he added.
The highest temperature in the country on Tuesday was 29 degrees Celsius in Cox's Bazar.
