Police started drives on highways and other roads in Jhenaidah to restore normalcy in traffic movement and refrain the unruly motor bikers, teens. The drives have started providing good results and admired by all sections of people.
As a part of their drives, the movement of the unauthorized motorbikes run by the minors has reduced within a few hours and huge transport drivers were compelled to remove their hydraulic horns instant.
According to Jhenaidah district police office sources, a team of the traffic men led by district traffic inspector Salahuudin conducted drives at Shailkupa Tinrasta, the main intersection to the entry point, Natun Bridge, Cinema Hall Market, Bardah Bridge on Kushtia-Jhenidah highway and some other points on Saturday.
The law enforcers removed a number of transports like trucks, three wheelers parked occupying the road and roadsides. They also nabbed bike riders without helmet, unruly teens riding three persons on a motorbike making noisy sounds.
To detect the speed of the vehicles the police men used speed-gun and brought the buses and trucks in book.
District traffic inspector (TI) Salahuudin told Bangladesh Post that as per the advices of the superintendent of police (SP) in Jhenidah Mohammad Hasanuzzaman, he along with inspector Ismail Hossain, Sergeant Nurul Islam and Mustafizur Rahman conducted the drives to restore peace on the highways and rural roads when some of the unruly young men went beyond the control.
TI Salahuddin said Shailkupa thana police had provided assistance to conduct the drives which will continue until and unless the normalcy restored on the roads.
