Drishticon Eye Hospital in Narail town has been inaugurated with the motto "Freedom from blindness is our promise".
Narail Zilla Parishad Chairman Advocate Subas Chandra Bose inaugurated the eye hospital as the chief guest on Friday morning.
President of Drishticon Eye Hospital Narail branch Sheikh Hanif presided over the opening ceremony while Managing Director of Drishticon Eye Hospital Md. Nazrul Islam Shahin, Ophthalmologist Gaucoma and Phaco Surgeon Dr. Md. Shahjahan Siraj, President of Narail Press Club Enamul Kabir Tuku, Minoti Bose, Md. Ajgar Hawladar among others were present. On the occasion of the inauguration ceremony, around one hundred patients were given free eye medical care.
In the opening ceremony, the managing director of the organization Nazrul Islam Shahin said in his welcome speech, "This non-profit eye hospital has been started in the district headquarters with the spirit of service, not business. Our main goal is to deliver medical services to the people to get rid of blindness. For this purpose, every day from 9 am to 5 pm, eye patients can see a doctor with a visit of only 200 taka. Apart from this, at least two poor and helpless patients will be given free eye treatment every month.
Mentioning that we are the first to introduce phaco surgery with the help of Japan's phaco machine in Narail, he further said, this surgery can be done in Drishticon eye hospital at a nominal cost without bandages and injections.
He also said that eye surgery will be done for only 6 thousand taka and good quality lenses will be installed.
It should be noted that the 4th branch of Drishticon Eye Hospital has been established in Narail town. Earlier, Drishticon Eye Hospital's 1st branch was established in Kalkini upazila of Madaripur district, 2nd branch in Muksudpur of Gopalganj district and 3rd branch in Lohagora upazila of Narail district.
