The Cabinet has okayed in-principle and final approval to the draft of the 'Bangladesh Forest Development Corporation Act, 2014' on
Monday.
This approval came from the cabinet meeting held on Monday at the Prime Minister's Office with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
After the meeting, Cabinet Secretary Md. Mahbub Hossain briefed media at the Secretariat.
The Cabinet Secretary said the draft law was finally approved on October 23, 2023.
But they could not place it in the last session of Parliament during that period.
That is why it was submitted again on Monday from the ministry. This time, the cabinet has again given its final approval, he said.
Besides, the draft of 'National Life Safety Policy, 2014' was okayed in the cabinet meeting.
In this regard, the cabinet secretary said that there is Bangladesh Life Safety Regulations 2022.
But in various international forums we were repeatedly asked to
make a policy. So, that policy has been made.
