Dr Mrityunjay Kundu, Senior Professor of the Department of Aquatic Resources Management at Sylhet Agricultural University (SAU) took charge as the newly appointed Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries of the University.
On Saturday Dr Mrityunjay Kundu took charge as the new dean in the conference room of the Faculty of Fisheries in the presence of SAU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Matiar Rahman Hawladar. At this time, among others, the outgoing Dean Prof Dr Md Abu Saeed was also present. Dr Kundu took charge as the 5th Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries.
Dr Mrityunjay Kundu received his BSc in Fisheries from Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) in 1990, MS in Fisheries Management in 2004 and PhD in Fisheries Management in 2008.
Teacher and researcher Dr Mrityunjay Kundu has published 52 national and international research articles. He has already published 5 books on fisheries education and research.
Prior to joining as the Dean, he held various important responsibilities in the field of education and administration, including Proctor of the University, Hall Provost, Divisional Chairman, General Secretary of the Democratic Teachers 'Council, General Secretary and President of the SAU Teachers' Association.
Various research projects are being conducted under his supervision with the funding of various international research institutes including World Bank, IDA and IFAD.
