Dr Hossain Zillur Rahman, convener of the UHC Forum, stressed the need for addressing the challenges in health sector.
He said Bangladesh made a progress in healthcare service.
But, three outstanding challenges - high healthcare costs, variable service quality and poor health literacy among the population – remain exist, he said.
Dr Rahman came up with the remarks during a meeting with district representatives of the Bangladesh Private Hospital, Clinic Diagnostic Owners Association (BPCDOA) at Green Life Medical College and Hospital in the city on Saturday, said a press release.
He said that a coordinated efforts is required to improve the situation.
BPCDOA president Prof Dr Moniruzzaman Bhuyian also spoke on the occasion.
