Dr Hari Shankar has set unique example by treating poor during pandemic: Titu

Mymensingh City Corporation Mayor Md. Ikramul Haque Titu said, “At a time when all the people are safe in their homes during the severe lockdown in Corona, at the same time Dr Hari Shankar Das has set an example by standing by the side of the poor and helpless people and working as a peddler of humanity with medical services.

He did not stop seeing patients even for a day during the difficult times of Corona. After remembering him, other doctors also started seeing patients. With his unique general courage, intelligence and human service, he has already earned the love and respect of people from all walks of life and has made a place in the jewels of people from all walks of life.

The mayor made the comments while speaking as the chief guest at the unveiling and publishing of the book titled 'Little seen through the Eyes' and 'Covid-19 Duryoge Dr Hari Shankar Das' written by Dr Hari Shankar Das at Swadhinata Sahitya Parishad Mymensingh on Friday night in the hall room of Parmita Eye Hospital at Charpara corner of the city.

General Secretary of District BM and President of Swadhinata Sahitya Parishad Dr H Prof  Yusuf Khan Pathan, Administrator of the District Council, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Overall) Pulak Kanti Chakraborty, General Secretary of Mymensingh Press Club Babul Hossain, Prominent businessman Mahbub Alam, Ward Councilor Fazlul Haque Ujjdd spoke on the occasion. Rafiquzzaman, Principal Dr. Shahab Uddin Ahmed, Distinguished Cultural Personality Shah Saiful Alam Pannu, Proprietor of Prant Specialized Hospital Mansur Alam Chandan, Lion Mizanur Rahman, Advocate Abul Kashem, Parmita Eye Hospital Deputy Director Mrs. Fatema Begum Matiul Alam, General Secretary of Mymensingh Divisional Press Club Md. Nazrul Islam, Journalist Niyamul Kabir Sajal, Mahmudul Hasan Milon, Sarat Selim, Azizur Rahman Khokon and others. At the end of the program, Saiful Alam Pannu, Pradeep Chakraborty and child artist Maria performed music in a pleasant cultural program.

Mayor Titu further said that the book ‘Little Eyes Seen’ written by Dr. Hari Shankar Das will be useful for the welfare of the people and there is an opportunity to know the history. The book "Dr. Hari Shankar Das in Covid-19 disaster". 

It will be a historical document of the service of Hari Shankar Das. Which the next generation will know about his working life.
