Dr Md Habibur Rahman has been promoted as Executive Director (Research) of the Bangladesh Bank, a press release said. Rahman has also been transferred to the BB’s monetary policy department at the post of Chief Economist, according to a circular, issued by the Human Resources Department of the central bank on Monday.
Before the promotion, he worked as GM at policy support wing of governor secretariat in the central bank. Habibur Rahman joined the central bank of Bangladesh in 1990 as assistant director at research division. In his career in the BB, he worked in the Governor’s Secretariat, department of policy research and senior research economist. He obtained graduation degree in economics from Jahangirnagar University. He participated different international seminar organised by World Bank, Asian Development Bank, IMF and other financial organisations.
