With the approval of President and Chancellor of Dhaka University (DU), Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman has been elected as the 29th Vice Chancellor ( VC) for the second time at DU for four year terms. On November 3, with the approval of President of Bangladesh, senior Assistant Secretary Nelima Afroj have signed the propaganda following the 1973 Dhaka University Order and according to article 11(1), he has been elected by the senate panel. He was also the previous VC of DU. And he also is working as Professor in the department of Islamic History and Culture at DU. He served in different academic , administrative and co- curricular development activities at the University of Dhaka including the Pro – VC (administration), Dean ( Faculty of Arts), Chairman , department of Islamic History and Culture.
