After being infected with global pandemic, Covid-19, Sirajganj Shaheed M Mansur Ali Medical College, Assistant Professor of Orthopedic SurgeryRezwanul Bari Shamim (49) died.
After his condition worsened, he was taken by air ambulance from Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College (SZMC) Hospital to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Medical University in Dhaka but he died.
Dr.Rezwanul Bari Shamim is the son of Abbas Ali Mian, a retired professor from Sultanganjpara in Bogra. His wife Dr.RimonAfroz is an ultrasonologist.
After showing symptoms, Dr. Shamim took his samples for testing at Bogra SZMC Hospital PCR Lab on July 19 and Shaheed M Mansur Ali Medical College Lab in Sirajganj on July 20. He was tested corona positive.
When his condition deteriorated, he was admitted to Bogra SZMC Hospital in isolation on July 29. He was given ventilator support as his condition worsened.
As there was no improvement, Shamim was taken to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Medical University in Dhaka by air ambulance on Sunday morning. He died there at around 2.15 pm.
