DNCRP, BFSA conduct drive in Bogura to tame prices of essentials

Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) Bogura branch and Bangladesh Food Safety Authority (BFSA) Bogura Branch conducted a drive in Bogura on Tuesday to ensure that chicken and eggs are sold at the price fixed by the government and to control product prices.

During an operation in Fateh Ali Bazaar in Bogura city on Tuesday afternoon, traders were urged to sell products at government-fixed prices. The mobile court of the Directorate of Consumer Rights Protection fined three traders a total of 10,000 taka during the drive for various violations, including not providing purchase receipts and failing to display price lists.

Traders were advised to display price lists and retain purchase receipts, among other guidelines during the drive. Mohammad Mehedi Hasan, Assistant Director of the Directorate of Consumer Rights Protection Bogura Branch, said that stricter enforcement of the law will be implemented in response to future complaints. The Food Safety Officer Md. Rasel and members of police were present during the drive.

Assistant Director Mehedi Hasan said traders have been urged to sell chicken, eggs, and other products at the price fixed by the government. The operation to control market prices will continue.
