DNCC starts campaign to destroy mosquito breeding grounds

Anti-mosquito workers visited a total of 6,359 places and 4,468 breeding places of mosquitoes were destroyed in a day in the special mosquito eradication campaign of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) to prevent dengue.

A total of 973 anti-mosquito workers participated in the simultaneous anti-mosquito operation conducted in each area of DNCC on Tuesday.

The local government department monitoring team and DNCC monitoring team supervised the mosquito eradication programme on the ground.

On Tuesday morning, larviciding activities and in the afternoon adulticiding activities conducted in each region of DNCC were inspected by the monitoring team of local government department and DNCC.

Three monitoring teams of local government department and 10 monitoring teams consisting of officials of DNCC conducted larviciding activities in the first phase from 7 am to 10 am and adulticiding activities in the second phase from 4 pm to 6 pm in ten regions.

Administrator of DNCC Mahmudul Hasan said, ‘our workers sprinkle medicines around the houses. But it is not possible for our workers to work inside the house. So keep your house clean.

Refrigerator, AC, flower tub, unused tires, coconut shells, open packets of chips, various open containers, roof or anywhere else should be carefully observed so that water does not accumulate.
