Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Atiqul Islam on Wednesday visited activities of ‘combing operation’ at Mirpur and Gabtoli area, reports BSS.
He urged people to be aware and keep their houses, offices and surrounding areas clean.
Mayor said fine would be imposed if Aedes larvae are found under his city corporation.
The DNCC mayor said, inspection teams will visit houses in each area during the combing operation and if they find Aedes larvae in any of those, they will hang a notice which reads ‘Aedes larvae were found at this house’ there.
Later, he visited Gabtoli bus-stand and surrounding areas and gave direction to the cleaners to clean all the garbage at the area near river Turag, said a press release. He also ordered to remove all illegal make shifts from the bus-stand area.
Atiq also visited Mirpur Model Thana specially on the area where the recovered vehicles were stored.
Aslamul Huq, MP, ward Commissioner Iqbal Hossain Titu, DNCC chief waste management officer Captain Manjur Hossain, regional officer Saleha Siraj were present.
