Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Md Atiqul Islam has expressed deep grief over the death of Member of Parliament, Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges Md Ekabbar Hossain.
Tangail-6 (Mirzapur) constituency parliament member Md. Ekabbar Hossain died at 65 in the Combined Military Hospital of the capital on Tuesday afternoon.

Mayor Atiqul said that Md Ekabbar Hossain was an experienced and idealistic politician. As a follower of Bangabandhu's ideology and a tried and tested popular leader of the Bangladesh Awami League, he was devoted to the welfare of the people all his life and his death has caused irreparable damage to the political arena of Bangladesh.
“His unique contribution in establishing public service laws in the country that will be forever remembered in the history of the country. The country and the nation will always remember him with deep respect, love and gratitude,” said the mayor.
Later, the DNCC mayor paid tribute to the late and prayed for the forgiveness of his departed soul and extended his deepest condolences to the bereaved family members.
