Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) and Japan's development organization JICA have been working together to eliminate traffic problems in the capital.
To fulfill this goal, this development cooperative organization has also arranged advanced training for traffic police members of DMP.
DMP Joint Commissioner (Traffic-South) SM Mehedi Hasan came up with this disclosure at a press conference held at DMP Media Center on Tuesday.
He said, “Under the leadership of the DMP Commissioner, the traffic system of the capital has been given utmost importance. As a part of this, we have taken various activities. So that we can eliminate the traffic problem of Dhaka residents to some extent.
Development partner JICA is running various activities in association with DMP”.
He also said that it will create public awareness, providing various types of training to traffic officials, collecting and analyzing data. The issue that is being given importance now is to create awareness about the overall traffic system among the people of Dhaka.
JICA has been working as a model to create awareness about road safety and traffic laws.
