As part of the anti-drug campaign in the capital, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested a total of 48 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs during last 24 hours till 6am on Saturday.
According to a press release issued by the DMP, police conducted the operations against drug sellers and consumers in different areas under various police stations and apprehended 48 drug traffickers and recovered huge narcotics from their possession.
During the anti-drug drive, police seized 60 grams of heroin, 55.930 kilograms of cannabis (ganja), 1,061 piece of yaba tablets and 45,000 sedative tablets from them, it said.
