‘DIU Heuristic’ a student team of Daffodil International University (DIU) became 1st Runner Up in ACM-International Girls Programming Contest-2019, held at North South University (NSU) on Friday.
The winning team members are Tanima Hossain, Umme Rokaiya Sany and Farzana Akther, all are students of 5th semester of the department of Computer Science and Engineering of DIU. Jahangirnagar University student’s team ‘JU Night Fury’ became champion in this competition.
Mustafa Jabbar, minister, Ministry of Post and Telecommunication distributed prize among winners as the chief guest. Professor Atiqul Islam, vice chancellor (VC) of NSU, Professor G U Ahsan, pro-VC, NSU, Dr Sajjat Hossain, associate professor, NSU also present at the prize giving ceremony.
While addressing the programme Mustafa Jabbar said that new generation will be rich through this competition and they will make a better Bangladesh if the young girls are involve into programming.
It may be mentioned that around 78 team from 40 university attended this competition. NSU organized this competition.
An MoU was signed on 17 July, at Northern University, Bangladesh (NUB) corporate office between Department of Public Health, NUB and Freedom Within to strengthen the activities on Mental Health among students and community.
Professor Dr Abu Yousuf Md Abdullah, chairman, NUB Trust and Nasima Akter, managing director, Freedom Within were present.
The sixth monthly research colloquium of School of Business was held on 17 July 2019 Wednesday at IQAC Seminar Hall. Mohitul Ameen Ahmed Mustafi, assistant professor of Department of Business Administration (DBA) was the speaker. He spoke on “Basic Concept of Statistics.” All of the faculty members of DBA were present. Research Club played an active role to organize the colloquium.
