Daffodil International University Air Rover Scout Group has distributed National Service Award 2021 certificate in a ceremony followed by an iftar at Daffodil Smart City in Birulia of Savar in Dhaka on Thursday.
Rovers from different units and regions, scout personnel, trainers, leaders, DIU air rovers as well as guests attended the event, said a press release on Saturday.
Manzoor Mohammad Shahriar, director of the National Directorate of Consumer Protection, was present as chief guest at the programme, while Sharifa Sultana, associate professor and associate head of pharmacy department, was present as special guest and professor M Lutfar Rahman, vice-chancellor of DIU and president of DIU Air Rover Scout Group, presided over it.
They highlighted the importance of scouting in teaching rovers how to lead a disciplined life and grow their leadership skills.
They also encouraged the rovers to abide by the rules of scout motto, which will inspire them to serve mankind.
