Young Power in Social Action (YPSA), an organization for sustainable development, has demanded the formulation of a district-based budget to bring development in every district of the country. The demand was made at a workshop on "Public Participation in Budgeting and Local Needs Assessment" organized by the Asia Foundation and Safety and Rights at YPSA's head office on Saturday at 10 am ahead of the forthcoming national budget announcement.
The speakers also demanded that the budget be allocated for the development of the culture of the country and a portion of the revenue of Chattogram Port be allocated for the development of Chattogram.
Senior journalist M Nasirul Haque was present as the chief guest at the workshop presided over by YPSA Director (Finance) Palash Chowdhury.
Omar Shahed, District Coordinator, YPSA Child Marriage Prevention Project, presented the keynote address at the workshop.
Also present were Jasmine Sultana Paru, President of Edab Chittagong District, Abida Azad, Former Women Councilor, Alamgir Sabuj, Head of Desh TV Division, Utpal Barua, Chief Executive of Bright Bangladesh Forum, Anwarul Islam Bappi, President of Mathrubhumi Foundation, Part-time Teacher of Bangladesh Marine Academy.
YPSA Youth Focal Abdus Sabur, YPSA Child Marriage Prevention Project Program Officer Rubaiyat Binte Helal were present among others.
