Distressed children of Sarishabari receive blankets

Sarishabari Upazila Nirbahi Officer Upma Farisa reached out to the orphans and disadvantaged children in different madrasas and orphanages of 3 unions of the upazila in Jamalpur with government provided blankets. The blankets were distributed among more than 200 orphans and disadvantaged children in two madrasas of Pingna union, two in Aona union and one in Pogaldigha union of the upazila on Thursday morning.

Chairman of Upazila Parishad Bir Muktijoddha Gias Uddin Pathan, Project Implementation Officer Humayun Kabir, Social Service Officer Arifur Rahman and other heads of educational institutions were present.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Upma Farisa said, “The government has sent us winter clothes for the cold victims. We try our best to reach out to those who are the real claimants and those who need them. We are distributing blankets to various orphanages, madrasas, shelters, cluster villages and underprivileged people living in different places of this upazila and children and old people will be given priority in the distribution of blankets. We will continue this activity.
