View-exchange meeting with traders in Bogura

Dist admin calls for handover of culprits to law enforcers

Bogura Deputy Commissioner Md Saiful Islam has called for handing over of the miscreants to the law enforcement agencies.

“The miscreants who have wreaked havoc across the country using students as shields will not be spared. The law enforcement agencies are ready,” he said.

The Bogura DC made the call at a views exchange meeting held at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner's office on Wednesday noon. In the ongoing context, such meeting was held with the stakeholders to keep the market stable, including the transportation of daily necessities.

He also said all those who have used the tender students in the name of quota reform movement will be brought under the law. All kinds of preparations have been taken from the administration. Law enforcement agencies are on the ground to track down the culprits.

Saiful Islam said, “Police, RAB, BGB, intelligence agency and later armed forces have helped us to control the overall situation in Bogura. We have tried to control the situation with the combined efforts of all. Besides, considerable efforts have been made to keep the transport sector safe. The police have tried to keep the markets safe.” 

“On the first day of the agitation, many policemen were injured in the attack on Satmatha. But the policemen tried to keep the whole town safe without hurting anyone. Common working people who have not been able to work due to curfew for the past few days need everyone's sincerity to bear the loss. From today till the time when the curfew will remain in place, you should keep your shops, shopping malls, transport sector, exchange of goods and all things normal. All kinds of cooperation will be made by the district administration to keep it normal,” the DC said.

Bogura-5 (Sherpur-Dhunat) constituency lawmaker and district Awami League President Md Mojibor Rahman Mojnu, Bogura-6 (Sadar) constituency lawmaker and district AL general secretary Ragebul Ahsan Ripu, Bogura Superintendent of Police Zakir Hasan, Rab-12 Bogura Company Commander (Superintendent of Police) Mir Monir Hossain, Deputy Director of Local Government Masum Ali Begh, Additional Deputy Commissioner (overall) Md Mejbaul Karim, District Food Controller Humayun Kabir, Bogura Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Masudur Rahman Milon, Bogura Press Club President Mahmudul Alam Nayan, General Secretary of Bus Minibus and Coach Transport Owners Association Aminul Islam and General Secretary of District Truck Owners Association Abdul Matin Sarkar, among others, spoke at the view exchange meeting. 

Officials of various public and private organisations, upazila nirbahi officers (UNOs), local public representatives, leaders of transport owners’ association, business leaders and journalists of print and electronic media were present. The whole issue of Bogura was discussed in the event.
