A discussion session on ‘orderly living and scientific diet’ was organised at the National Museum of Science and Technology on Wednesday.
All levels of officials at the museum participated in the discussion. Chief medical officer of DPDC Sheikh Mainul Hossain was present as the main speaker at the session, according to a press release. He said at the discussion that a scientific diet and adequate sleep were necessary to avoid various complex diseases related to food, such as type-2 diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and various cancers.
In the session, the museum director general Mohammad Munir Chowdhury emphasised the use of vegetable oil and low-heat cooking, as both preserved the nutritional value of food.
