A rally and discussion meeting was held on Sunday (November 13) at Islami University to raise public awareness against corruption. The rally started at 11 am from the administration building premises.
Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Md. Mahbubur Rahman said, I will not do corruption, I will not allow others to do corruption, if we move forward with this mindset, it will not take time to build a corruption-free Bangladesh. Referring to Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's pledge to build a corruption-free Bangladesh, he said, Come on, we love the country, we love the Islamic University. He urged all the teachers, officials and employees of the university to fulfill their duties with the conviction that corruption will not be allowed in the 175 acres of the Islamic University.
Treasurer Professor in the meeting. Md. Alamgir Hossain Bhuiyan said, under the leadership of the current government, Bangladesh has achieved enviable success in achieving the Millennium Development Goals and is moving forward successfully in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. Zero tolerance against corruption has been announced to achieve the goal of building a developed Bangladesh by 2041.
Student advisor Professor Dr Shelina Nasreen chaired and moderated the meeting, registrar (acting) H. M. Ali Hasan, Proctor Professor Dr Moha: Jahangir Hossain, Transport Administrator Professor Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain, Director of ICT Cell Professor Dr. Ahsan-ul-Ambia, Professor of Accounting and Information Systems Department. Kazi Akhtar Hossain, Professor of Management Department, Md. Saiful Islam, Director of Planning and Development Department (acting). Md Nawab Ali, Controller of Examinations (acting) Md Abul Kalam Azad, Director of Finance and Accounts Department (acting) Sheikh Md Zakir Hossain, Chief Engineer (acting) Munshi Sahid Uddin Md Tarek and others were present.
