Discussion meeting of a District Policy Forum was held with stakeholders for improving the quality of education in Kishoreganj on Wednesday afternoon.
The District Policy Forum organized a discussion meeting in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner. Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Shamim Alam was attended as chief guest.
DPF President Professor Rabindranath Chowdhury was presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Golam Mostafa, District and Upazila Primary Education Officers, teachers of various educational institutions and Presidents of School Management Committees and journalists of print and electronic media.
The discussion was conducted by District Policy Forum General Secretary Mir Ashraf Uddin. The meeting identified various challenges in improving the quality of education, strengthened monitoring system in schools, arranged mid-day meal for students, restrained teachers from various extracurricular activities, took necessary steps to activate SMC and PTA, continued co-curricular activities in schools, Instead of giving stipends to 100 per cent students, various recommendations were made including giving stipends to financially indigent students and increasing the amount of stipend money.
