Discussion on Bangamata, Sheikh Kamal held

A discussion was held in Chattogram city on the occasion of the 72nd birth anniversary of Bangabandhu’s eldest son Captain Sheikh Kamal and Bangamata Begum Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib’s 93rd birth anniversary.

Chattogram Zila Parishad arranged the discussion at its office on Sunday (August 13, 2023)  

Chairman of Chattogram Zila Parishad Chairman ATM Pearul Islam was the chief guest on the occasion. Zila Parishad Chief Executive Officer Shabbir Iqbal presided over the meeting.

In the speech as the chief guest, ATM Pearul Islam said that the brave freedom fighter Sheikh Kamal was a multi-dimensional talent. He was brave, sportsmanlike and cultured. Besides being a successful organizer in the great freedom struggle, he participated with immense courage and valour.  By establishing Abahani Krirachakra, he created a new awakening in the sports arena of the country.  Marrying renowned sportsperson Sultana Ahmed Khuki is also a sign of her unique sports mentality.  Young society should learn from the life of Bangabandhu's eldest son.

He said, the noble woman Bangamata was always by Bangabandhu's side in happiness and sorrow.  She inspired Bangabandhu in political movement-struggle for the realization of people's rights. Throughout his life, he was exposed to the glory of sacrifice by sacrificing his happiness.

It is never possible for a common woman.  No one can touch the glory of Bangamata's sacrifice.

Bangamata was always by Bangabandhu's side in happiness and sorrow.  He inspired Bangabandhu in political movement-struggle for people's rights. All his life, he sacrificed his own joy and happiness. It is never possible for an ordinary woman.  No one can touch the glory of Bangamata's sacrifice.

 He said, August gave us a lot but took away everything.  Captain Sheikh Kamal, the pioneer of Bangladesh's modern culture and sports movement, the eldest son of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, was born in this month of August.  The great woman Bangamata Begum FazilatunnesaMujib was born in this month.  But this month we have lost 17 members of the father of the nation along with his family.

 He said the sum of gain and loss is Bloody August.  Bangamata could clearly understand the political thoughts of Bangabandhu.  Bangamata's well-thought-out advice helped and encouraged Bangabandhu to take the right decisions in various fields.  The greatest contribution to the rise of the father of the nation as the father of the nation is the noble woman Bangamata.  She played an important role not only as Bangabandhu's wife but also as a companion and political advisor.  That is why the contribution of Bangamata should be given due recognition.
