Discussion meeting held between UGC and NDUB

A four-member team from Notre Dame University Bangladesh (NDUB) welcomed and congratulated the newly appointed Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Kazi Shahidullah at UGC building followed by a discussion meeting about unlocking the potential in higher studies of the country. 

Fr Patrick Daniel Gaffney, CSC, Vice Chancellor, NDUB, Professor Mahfuza Khanom, Member, Board of Trustees, Fr Adam S Pereira, CSC, Registrar, NDUB, Fr Frank Quinlivan, CSC and the faculty of NDUB conversed with the UGC Chairman on Tuesday morning.

Fr Frank shared the history of the Holy Cross Congregation and its immense contribution in the education sector of the country. Fr Adam S Pereira discussed the first convocation ceremony of NDUB which is going to be held in near future. Prof Mahfuza Khanom spoke about her happiness and satisfaction for being with the Holy Cross Fathers at NDUB. The Vice Chancellor of NDUB Fr Patrick talked about his experience at Notre Dame University, Indiana, United States of America, and its collaboration with NDUB.      

The present UGC Chairman is a former student of a missionary institution known as St Gregory’s High School and College, and former Vice Chancellor of National University, as well as Professor of the Department of History at the University of Dhaka. UGC Chairman wished NDUB well on its journey. NDUB started its journey in 2014 with permission from the government. 

Thus, the Holy Cross Fathers marked another chapter in the education arena of the country.
