Police have arrested three drug dealers from Birampur municipal area with large quantity of drugs. A sacked policeman was also arrested with the accused. Police handed over the accused persons to Dinajpur court on Friday after a case was registered at the police station.
According to the case sources, on the basis of secret information of drug trade in Mahmudpur village of the municipal area, the police raided the house of Rabiz Uddin, son of late Abdul Mannan of that village on Thursday night.
Meanwhile, Bariz Uddin (42) and his accomplices Matiar Rahman (43) and Sajal (22) were arrested and their house was searched. 2,700 pieces of Yaba, 600 grams of cannabis, three bottles of liquor and two grams of heroin were recovered. A case was registered at the police station on Thursday night.

OC Mahbur Rahman (Investigation) said drug dealer Bariz Uddin was sacked as a police constable 14 years ago due to his wife's case.
Police OC Sumon Kumar Mahant confirmed the incident and said that a case has been registered against the three and the accused were handed over to Dinajpur court on Friday.
