In a bid to showcase the transformative power of digital innovation in rural communities, the ‘Digital Village, Smart Village Expo 2024’ is set to take center stage in Singra, Natore today.
Under the slogan ‘From Village to World,’ this pioneering event promises to spotlight the ingenuity of local entrepreneurs and the potential of e-commerce to drive economic growth and inclusivity.
The day-long fair jointly organized by the Ministry of Commerce’s Business Promotion Council (BPC) and the E-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (E-CAB), the expo aims to celebrate the burgeoning digital ecosystem in rural Bangladesh.
At a press conference regarding the event, organizers underscored the significance of showcasing products and services crafted by local artisans and organizations on a national platform. Of particular note are exhibitions featuring Geographical Indication (GI) products, adding a cultural dimension to the technological showcase. A distinguished lineup of guests, including high-ranking government officials, industry leaders, and local authorities, will grace the occasion, to foster digital transformation at the grassroots level.
Notable participants in the fair include prominent e-commerce entities such as Daraz, Sonargaon University, Bili, SSL Commerce, Nagad, and Lalsabuj, each contributing to the vibrant tapestry of digital innovation on display.
The expo is a collaborative effort between E-CAB and the BPC of the Ministry of Commerce, with support from the Department of Posts and SME Foundation.
