Digital skills training Prog held at IU

A training session on digital skills organized by Bangladesh Computer Council and ICT Division under Enhancing Digital Government and Economy (EDGE) project was held at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia amid a great number of participants on Sunday.

Professor Dr Shaikh Abdus Salam, Vice-Chancellor, Islamic University, addressed the event as the chief guest while Professor Dr Robiul Hoque, Chairman of the IU Digital Skills for Students Program (DSSP), was in a chair.  EDGE Director and Joint-Secretary Shakhawat Hossain presented as the guest of honor, ,Professor Dr. Mahbubur Rahman, IU Pro-VC, Professor Dr. Alamgir Hossain Bhuiyan, treasurer, Professor Dr. Farukuzzaman Khan, DSSP Coordinator and Smart Leadership Academy Specialist under the EDGE project, Dr. Mazharul Hoque, as special guests.

Professor Salam said, “The purpose of education is to empower students. Through the acquisition of knowledge and skills, they should develop self-confidence, enabling them to feel capable in their daily lives. 

Education should be practical, providing hands-on learning that makes them proficient. We will learn, become practical, gain work skills, and establish ourselves as professionals, whether as employees, entrepreneurs, or in other professions.” “Studying is necessary, but we should not remain silent, ineffective, or collapsed after gaining an education. We will make ourselves capable to establish our position in the market. Combining knowledge, training, and technology, students need to be prepared to sustain themselves”, he also added.
