In the HSC Physics exam, there was a mistake in the English version of the first paper. Students in Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Board had to answer this wrong question. No one could answer it correctly.
After realizing the mistake, the Dhaka Education Board decided to give 8 marks to all students who took the exam in English. Professor Abul Bashar, the Board's Examination Controller, said that students should not be deprived because of this error.
Teachers found mistakes in two places in the Physics first paper exam held on July 11. Students in the English version were worried about losing 8 marks because the questions were not correct.
In the Bengali version of question 4, it says, "Suman is driving a car of mass 200 kg at a speed of 60 km/h on a bend in Bandarban. The turning radius of the road is 150 m. The road is 4 m wide and 0.5 m high from the inner edge to the outer edge."
However, in the English version, it says the road is "5 meters high," which is not possible. Physics teachers said the Bengali version is correct.
In another question, the Bengali version asks, "Which vibration is stronger?" But the English version asks, "Which pendulum is more powerful?" The terms "energy" and "power" are different in physics, making the question inconsistent.
All students who attempted the wrong questions will receive 8 marks to ensure fairness.
