The Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board has released new guidelines for the registration of sixth-grade students. Online registration will start on September 10 and continue until October 9, according to a notification issued on Monday.
To register, students must be at least 9 years old, with the maximum age limit set at 15 years. However, for students with special needs, the age limit has been extended to 20 years, as reported.
The registration fee has been set at Tk 74. The new registration process began last year as part of the implementation of the new curriculum.
To complete the registration, students or their institutions need to log in to the board’s website using the OMES/eSIF button with their EIIIN number and password. After logging in, they must select the eSIF SIX option from the dashboard, provide details like the student’s name and contact number, and print the Sonali Seba slip. The form cannot be photocopied or directly submitted to the bank; payment must be completed within 24 hours for the registration to be considered valid. Once payment is completed, institution heads can reprint the slip and enter any missed registration details.
Students studying in recognized and approved institutions are eligible to register under their own school’s name. However, students from unrecognized schools must register through the nearest authorized school or college. Unrecognized institutions are not allowed to register students directly under any circumstance.
This guideline aims to streamline the registration process and ensure that students are registered correctly and on time, providing a clear path for sixth-grade education under the Dhaka Board.
