A two-day long 1st Development Studies International Conference on ‘Navigating Development Pathways in the Evolving Global Order’ has been concluded on May 06. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal was in a chair while Cabinet Secretary Md. Mahbub Hossain addressed it as chief guest. The department of Development Studies organized the event in a city hotel.
Vice-Chancellor of Islamic University Prof. Dr. Sheikh Abdus Salam and Vice-Chancellor of Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University Prof. Dr. M. Kamruzzaman addressed the program as distinguished panelists. Chairman of the Department of Development Studies Prof. Dr. Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir delivered a welcome address while Prof. Dr. M Abu Eusuf gave vote of thanks. Prof. Dr. Kazi Maruful Islam conducted this program. Vice-Chancellor Prof.
Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal stressed the need for making the environment free from all sorts of pollutions to ensure sustainable development as well as improve human health condition in our country.
He urged all to work comprehensively for the betterment of the society as well as to make Bangladesh as developed country. He also emphasized on development of need-based curriculum in all disciplines including the Department of Development Studies in all public and private universities in the country through producing a holistic approach.
A total of 34 papers were presented at 9 sessions in two-day long international conference.
Besides, 4 keynote speeches were delivered and 4 policy dialogues were held. Academicians, researchers, and experts from different countries including Bangladesh, Netherlands, China, UK, Australia, Brunei, USA, India, South Africa, Thailand, Nepal, Ethiopia, and Korea participated in the conference.
