The minister was responding to a question from reporters at the inauguration ceremony of the newly constructed 'Police Muktijoddha Museum' of Chittagong Metropolitan Police at Dampara on Thursday afternoon. The Home Minister said, "The first thing is strikes is a political exercises. Political parties can do this. Our point is that if someone is obstructing the road, if someone is vandalizing, if someone is doing something destructive, then of course the security forces will play their role. We think that political parties will show tolerance. They will not go to any vandalism, will not do destructive work. Will not cause misery to the people.’
The inaugural function was presided over by Chittagong Metropolitan Police Commissioner Saleh Mohammad Tanvir. At the end of the inauguration, police uniforms of different periods, letters of government departments of the time, news published in newspapers, biographies of heroes, uniforms of current police personnel, map of Dampara police lines, gallows stage, room with visual display, pictures of martyred police personnel, information, history and many other stuffs were displayed at the museum.
He also visited the News of the Liberation War, various local and foreign newspapers, Bangabandhu Corner, various books based on the Liberation War, pictures of Bangabandhu and his writings, weapons used in the Liberation War, etc.
