Tunisia forced Denmark to share points after a goalless draw in their opening match in the World Cup 2022 at the Education City Stadium on Tuesday.
In the keenly contested match, Tunisia one of the African teams and Denmark of Europe, after a 90 minutes clash failed to find the net for once.
Denmark, who were considered as favourites in the match, enjoyed 62 percent ball possession and better domination overall but it was a balanced game. Tunisia, who had 13 shots compared to Denmark’s 11, held their own and were deserving of the draw.
The best chance of the game fell to Denmark substitute Cornelius who wasted a golden opportunity to win the game for his side.
Though the game ended in a stalemate, but it was entertaining match and the result was very fair.
The North African team enjoyed noisy support from a sea of red-clad fans, as many of whom live and work in the Gulf emirate when they could have the lead three minutes minute before the break but Kasper Schmeichel made a superb one-handed save to deny Issam Jebali.
