LGRD Minister Md Tajul Islam on Saturday said the dengue situation has improved after Eid as the government involved people of the country directly in the Ades mosquito control campaign.

‘The government has taken effective measures to face dengue though no one think about the adverse consequence of the mosquito-borne viral diseases.” the LGRD Minister said this while addressing a programme of UCB Public Parliament organised by Debate for Democracy at Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) in the capital on Friday.  Md Tajul Islam also said the LGRD ministry is ready to provide financial assistance to the family of the poor victims who died of dengue earlier.  Terming dengue a global problem now, the minister informed that the government is looking for new medicine to prevent the diseases.

Public awareness against dengue is very much necessary. All the citizens should keep their own houses clean. Government and non-government initiatives are needed at this time, he added.   Debate for Democracy President Hasan Ahmed Chowdhury Kiran presided over the programme.
